Overview

Play233 Company Limited ("we", "our", or "us") operates the mobile word puzzle game Jollof Words, available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Jollof Words, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

By downloading or playing Jollof Words, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the game, show advertising, and improve your experience:

• Gameplay data — puzzle progress, scores, level, and in-game Adinkra balances. This is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us.
• Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version, for compatibility and diagnostics.
• Advertising identifier — the Google Advertising ID (Android) or the Identifier for Advertisers (iOS, only if you allow tracking). This is a resettable identifier assigned by your device, not your name or account.
• Install and usage events — when the app is first installed and opened, and general in-app activity such as session length, used to measure whether our advertising is working.
• Install referrer — on Android, information from Google Play and Meta about which advert or link led you to install the game.
• Anything you choose to send us — if you use the "Suggest a word" link in the game, it opens a Google Form. Whatever you type there, including your name if you choose to give it, is submitted to us. Leaving the name field blank keeps the submission anonymous.

We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or payment details through Jollof Words.

How We Use Your Information

The data we collect is used to:

• Operate and maintain the Jollof Words game experience.
• Display advertising, including rewarded video adverts you choose to watch in exchange for in-game Adinkra power.
• Measure which adverts and campaigns bring players to the game, so we do not waste money advertising ineffectively.
• Understand which features players enjoy so we can improve the game.
• Diagnose crashes and fix technical issues.
• Comply with legal obligations under applicable law.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.

Advertising & Attribution

Jollof Words is free to play and is funded by advertising. Two things follow from that, and we would rather state them plainly than bury them.

We show adverts. The game uses Google AdMob to display banner adverts, occasional full-screen adverts between rounds, and rewarded video adverts that you can choose to watch to earn in-game Adinkra power. To do this, AdMob receives your device's advertising identifier and may use it to select which adverts to show you.

We measure our own advertising. When we run adverts for Jollof Words on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), we need to know which of those adverts actually led to installs. We use AppsFlyer, a mobile measurement partner, for this. AppsFlyer receives your advertising identifier and install information, and passes attribution results back to the advertising platform that showed you the advert.

This is why our Google Play Data safety declaration states that device identifiers are both collected and shared, for advertising and analytics purposes. You can control this — see Your Choices below.

Third-Party Services

Jollof Words uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data it receives:

• Google AdMob — serves the adverts in the game. Google Privacy Policy
• AppsFlyer — measures which advertising campaigns lead to installs. AppsFlyer Privacy Policy
• Meta Platforms — receives attribution results for adverts we run on Facebook and Instagram. Meta Privacy Policy
• Google Play Services / Apple App Store — app distribution, and the in-app rating prompt. Their own privacy policies apply to your store account.
• Google Forms — used only if you tap "Suggest a word" and choose to submit something.

If you tap a link that opens your browser — such as a shared link or the suggestion form — you leave the app, and the privacy policy of that website applies from that point.

Your Choices

You are not stuck with the defaults. Both Android and iOS give you direct control over the advertising identifier, and those controls apply to Jollof Words like any other app.

• On Android — open Settings, then Google, then Ads. You can reset your advertising ID, or delete it entirely. Deleting it stops apps from receiving it at all.
• On iOS — the first time tracking is relevant, the system asks whether Jollof Words may track you. If you decline, the Identifier for Advertisers is not shared. You can change your answer at any time in Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Tracking.

Declining does not lock you out of anything. The game works exactly the same either way — adverts will still appear, but they will be less relevant to you, and our measurement of them becomes less precise.

To remove all locally stored gameplay data, uninstall the app.

Children's Privacy

Jollof Words is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

The game contains advertising served by a third-party network, and shares a device advertising identifier with advertising and measurement partners as described above. For that reason we do not present it as a children's app.

The game does not require account creation and contains no chat, messaging, or other player-to-player communication features.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at play@iplay233.com and we will delete it promptly.

Data Retention

Gameplay progress, your level, and your Adinkra balance are stored locally on your device. If you uninstall Jollof Words, this data is removed along with the app.

Advertising and attribution data held by our partners is retained according to their own retention schedules, which are set out in their privacy policies linked above.

Suggestions submitted through the "Suggest a word" form are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the game's word banks.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Because Jollof Words does not require account creation, most of your data is held locally on your device and is within your direct control.

We do not operate an in-app data deletion request feature. To exercise any rights or make a privacy-related request, contact us at play@iplay233.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

All data transmitted between Jollof Words and our partners is sent over an encrypted connection. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect any data we process against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or in applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide notice within the app.

Continued use of Jollof Words after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
